Nous Holdings
recognizes that South Africa has a legacy of discrimination
in relation to race, gender and disability that
has denied access to opportunities for education,
employment, promotion and wealth creation to the
majority of South Africans.
In accordance with the development
of our culture of empowerment and equal opportunities,
we have embraced the concept of employment equity as
defined by our government.
The aim of
Nous Holdings is to not only comply with the
minimum requirements of the Employment Equity
Act, but to truly achieve employment equity within
the organization.
To this end, a five-year employment
equity plan, detailing numerical goals and strategies
for implementation, has been drafted by the Equity
Steering Committee within each of our companies. This
has been achieved with the support of each Managing
Director and forms a vital component of the long-term
strategy of the entire organisation.
In addition, the Group has allocated a percentage
of its budget to Skills Development and combined
with detailed annual training plans, aims at
developing entry-level staff from designated
groups, to realizing their full potential within
the organisation.
